A 1-minute Guide
Augmented Reality
Augmented reality refers to a form of extended reality over what we see. Augmented reality can be displayed with a smartphone for example. The smartphone app recognises a surface or a symbol and adds the augmented reality content over it. The augmented reality content can then be interacted with on the smartphone.
Virtual Reality
Virtual reality refers to a fully immersive virtual world, often displayed with a VR headset. A VR headset can also be simulated with a smartphone and a so-called cardboard – a casing that holds the smartphone in front of the user’s eyes. Virtual reality enables rich interactions and movement in a full 3D experience. Virtual reality has been shown to enhance interactive experience due to the complete immersion that is achieved.
